Test anxiety is something that many students experience. Although test scores are only one part of the college admissions process, many students still worry about the process of taking the ACT. For many students, anxiety stems from low self-esteem, and the best way to combat it is through thorough preparation. Here are some tips to help you prepare on how to overcome the ACT examination:
- Having a basic grasp of the ACT
Instead of going headfirst into the ACT test blindly, learn about it, or best of all, learn a bit about the test’s format so you know what will and must happen. However, to familiarize yourself with the test structure, it is best to try practicing with past papers from the past years.
By familiarizing themselves with the previous year’s test structures, students will understand the exam structure, question types, difficulty, and their own weaknesses and strengths to self-correct and develop.
- Form a suitable study plan
In the process of preparing for international program exams from SAT, ACT to GMAT, GRE, an indispensable element is a reasonable study plan. The study plan will help students see the immediate goals clearly, thus saving time, effort and especially increasing learning efficiency to reach said goal.
